Countertop Project Information & Customer Responsibilities
Material Variations
- Quartz: Variations in color, shade, veining, and pattern are normal. Small blotches or random particle patterns are expected and not defects.
- Natural Stone: Every slab is unique and may have natural veining, fissures, pits, and texture differences. Artistic Mable assumes no responsibility for natural variations
- Samples will vary from the actual countertop.
- Darker colors show dirt, dust, scratches, fingerprints, and watermarks more easily.
Seams
- A seam is a joint filled with epoxy or glue. Seams are always visible and can be felt.
- Lighter-colored countertops typically show darker seams.
- Veining and patterns may not align at seams.
- Final seam placement is at the installer’s discretion based on slab size, layout, and site
conditions.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
- Daily Cleaning: Use only non-abrasive, non-acidic cleaners. Avoid harsh chemicals that can scratch or etch the surface.
- Stain Removal:
- Use stone-specific poultices for stubborn stains.
- Bar Keepers Friend or Soft Scrub may be used on both Quartz and Natural Stone with a non-abrasive rag.
- Always rinse thoroughly after use.
- Sealing (Annually):
- Natural stone requires at least one sealant application per year.
- Quartzite, Marble, and light-colored stones may need more frequent sealing due to higher susceptibility to staining.
- Products Available: Cleaners, sealants, and stain-removal poultices are available for purchase in our showroom.
Important Notice
- Use of unapproved or abrasive products that cause discoloration, dullness, or polish removal is not covered under warranty.
- Care & maintenance instructions are available on our website, on manufacturer websites, and through general online resources.
NATURAL STONE CHARACTERISTICS
- Natural stone (Granite, Quartzite, Marble, etc.) is a product of nature. It will contain inherent characteristics that cannot be removed or changed.
- Customers who prefer a more uniform appearance may want to consider Quartz (engineered stone), which is man-made and does not include the natural characteristics found in granite and other natural stones.
- The purpose of this notice is to educate, not alarm. Many of the same characteristics that make natural stone beautiful are also the unavoidable traits of the material.
- Stone used in your countertops maintains the same structure and properties it had while in the ground.
Common Characteristics of Natural Stone
- Porosity: Natural stones are porous. Moisture spots and stains may occur. Dark colors and honed/leathered finishes will show moisture until fully dry.
- Sealing: Sealer helps reduce staining but does not make stone moisture-proof.
- Surface Features: Veining, pits, rough areas, mica flakes, mineral spots, and fissures are normal and part of the stone’s unique appearance.
- Cosmetic Variations: Veining and pattern changes occur naturally during formation and are not structural defects or weak points.
Customer Responsibilies
- Customers are encouraged to personally review slabs and research material options before making a final selection.
- Natural variations in veining, patterns, pitting, and fissures are what make natural stone distinct from man-made products.
- Artistic Marble & Granite assumes no responsibility for natural stone characteristics that are inherent to the material.
